Local Attractions

What else is around.

We’re in a corner of the prairie most travellers drive past. Don’t. There’s a lot here.

UNESCO World Heritage

Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park

Twenty-five minutes east, in the Áísínai'pi badlands. The largest concentration of rock art on the North American Plains, walking trails through hoodoos, and a small interpretive centre. Plan a half day.

Next door

Under 8 Flags Campground

Right next to the course — full-service sites, river access, and a stay-and-play deal for golfers. Easiest way to make a weekend of it.

On the horizon

The Sweetgrass Hills

Three isolated volcanic outliers rising out of the prairie south of town, just over the Montana line. You'll see them from the 8th tee on a clear day. Sacred land for the Blackfoot Confederacy.

Townsite

Milk River, Alberta

A small Highway 4 town with a handful of cafés, the historic Devil's Coulee Dinosaur Museum nearby, and the only river in Canada that drains into the Gulf of Mexico. Worth a walk after the round.
