Hole by hole

What each hole asks of you.

Hole 1
Par 3 153 yds HCP 6

Opening par-three played from beside the clubhouse — a friendly handshake to start the round.

Hole 2
Par 4 344 yds HCP 1

Par-four along the Milk River with water in play on the approach. Hardest hole on the card — pick the safe line off the tee.

Hole 3
Par 5 494 yds HCP 4

The Big Boy — Riverside's signature hole. Longest on the course at 494 yards. A reachable par-five for the long hitters, three honest shots for the rest of us.

Hole 4
Par 3 152 yds HCP 5

Short par-three through the heart of the layout. Don't get cute with the club selection.

Hole 5
Par 4 258 yds HCP 8

Short but tricky par-four — uphill to a perched green. Club up; the second shot plays longer than the yardage.

Hole 6
Par 4 249 yds HCP 9

Shortest par-four on the card and the easiest handicap. A breather between the longer holes — make a birdie if you can.

Hole 7
Par 4 358 yds HCP 2

Long par-four — the second-toughest hole. Demands a good drive to leave a manageable approach.

Hole 8
Par 4 330 yds HCP 7

Par-four bending toward the Sweetgrass Hills on the horizon. Often the prettiest view of the round.

Hole 9
Par 5 459 yds HCP 3

Closing par-five — downhill, with water guarding the approach back to the clubhouse. A score-shaping hole; finish strong.
